Notice Regarding Ogle Mobile Application

The District would like to make you aware of a problematic mobile application called Ogle. Ogle is designed and marketed for students to post videos and/or pictures about themselves, other students and their school campuses. The application allows users to submit photos, make comments and post without censorship and in total anonymity.

The Fullerton Joint Union High School District believes that there is no practical use for this app and that it is largely being used to spread harmful, hurtful and negative messages. We do not believe it adds any value nor does it deliver any positive benefits for our students. The schools in our district (and many others) are being affected by this application. The Ogle app, like many other social media, can become an avenue for cyber-bullying, harassment, violence and other issues.

We urge parents to carefully monitor student’s online presence and use of this app and any other social media. We respectfully ask that you strongly consider removing this app from your students phone. We continually review district-owned devices to ensure that such applications are not installed.
